The new Pop: Craking art
The goal of the topical movement is to construe contemporary preoccupations, especially environmental problems. The cracking is a process who makeover oil in plastic. Those artists use humour and irony, a kitsch iconography and monumental sculptures or “coned” to stimulate consciences. Their first demonstration was “SOS world”: 8 giant tortoises was present in the 49th biennial of Venice in 2001. One of its have been sold for 2400 euros in Rome in 2004. Omar Ronda is the leader and theorist of the movement.
