Pop Art isn’t in the doghouse!

  Whereas Artists of Pop art denounced mass-media and the mass-consumption, that’s now an instrument of communication of industrial groups, specially urban brands. There are 2 years, Levi’s has passed an agreement with Andy Warhol foundation to create a collection called Warhol Factory x Levi’s. Today, that’s Pepe Jeans who sign with the foundation the Andy Warhol Collection by Pepe Jeans London. Burton agreed with it too and the creator, Jean Charles de Castelbajac, pay tribute to the artist and the movement through his modern and fanciful collection.  

      Pop art and Andy Warhol is deeply rooted in the fashion and communication world. It stirs up always to attract because it’s not just an artistic movement, it’s a society phenomenon with values and a popular style misknown by people. But, it’s reference to a “quich” period and popular figures. Brands and communication exploits those bright colors and the principle of screen process. But, the case of Levi’s and Pepe Jean show the lack of variety and creativity. Who have to turn over a new leaf.
